These actually aren't my first attempts at painting, but my only previous experience was in high school art class where (I think) we worked on two or three panting projects. I've always been into art, though, and previously did mainly pencil drawings. Earlier this year, however, I decided to try my hand at painting - I've always been a fan of our good friend Mr. Bob Ross' painting show and thought this would be fun to try. So, I bought a painting kit and all the additional required accessories and gave it a shot!

It was really fun working on these projects (Although those mountains are a lot tougher to do than good ol' Bob makes it look!). I've given two of them away as gifts so I actually only still have the one at the left which I plan on keeping since it was my first. My favorite of the three I've done so far is the sunset (I'm a fan of sunsets). A funny bit of info related to the sunset painting - people have asked me how I added the glare effect to the painting, when actually that white spot is a result of the flash from the camera I used to take the photo! I've added a more accurate version of what the painting actually looks like.

I'm hoping to start a new project soon now that the weather is more reasonable (I work with alot of windows open and have started to keep the paint thinner and brush cleaning rack outside while working because of the fumes and mess). So, be on the lookout for another painting (hopefully) soon!
